The Commander has just finished Stephen Mark’s book Confessions of a Political Hitman.
While operating as a Republican-oriented opposition researcher, the author experienced a crisis of conscience du7e to his observation of widespread individual hypocrisy in the Republican Party. He freely admits that this condition is mirrored on the Democrap side, and that while he “detests liberals”, his exit to the fence-sitting middle was due to his nausea over the hypocrisy. He seems to feel that the Democraps are somehow more holy because they just freely admit to venal corruption and blatant double-standardism.
What Mr. Marks fails to realize is that any random individual may be seduced by power, money, or sex. Human failings do not necessarily reflect on the stated goals of the party platform.
Republicans have some bad people. Democraps have bad ideas.

Snipergate
We note with some amusement the spectacle of the military-loathing Klintons suddenly trying to conjure a pretend connection to the military.
“Under sniper fire!”
As eminently displayed in the media (the media! We always wondered what it would be like if a Democrat got the same media treatment as a Republican. Now we can see it firsthand!) she was lying. How do you tell if a Klinton is… oh, never mind.
Another attempt to fool the public into thin king she has something – anything – at all – in common with normal Americans.
Sidebar – what kind of First Felon Lying Sack of S#!t Serial Lecher Dirtbag “Commander-in Chief” would send his wife into a hot LZ?
AND finally – the Administration was eveidently more afraid of the soldier’s response to her than that of the enemy, so they demanded that the security detail be deprived of ammunition! Now, I’m axin’ you – What good is a detail of MPs in a hot area without ammunition?

SCOTUS
Yesterday’s SCOTUS review of the Washington DC gun ban was interesting – even to those of us who thought we knew what to expect.
First, DCs attorney opened with statements of historical falsity. Either he is stupid, unprepared, or willing to lie even to the Supreme Court to get his way. (See 3:16-25).
Secondly, during discussion, even Justice Kennedy (hardly a conservative) was opining on the unequivocal right of the individual to own arms. The court’s sticking point was whether a jurisdiction could legitimately ban one type of firearm while allowing others.
Thirdly, the court argument veered into the territory of allowing machine guns due to their applicability to military service (we feel it is highly unlikely that the court will ever rule that machine guns are legitimate for civilian possession – even though the M-16 is the basic arm of our military).
Prediction – the court will rule that the fundamental right of individuals to own and bear arms is protected, that “bear arms” requires further review to determine cases and circumstances where the right cannot be regulated, and that ownership of various types of firearms can be subjected to reasonable regulation that is more lenient than most attempts now. The DC ban will be struck down. Licensing will be upheld. Many challenges to regulations and licensing will follow.
Ah, well – you can’t have everything. Where would you put it?

Second Amendment
Today the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) is hearing argument on the scope of the second amendment to the US Constituion. At issue is whether the amendment protects an individual right without restriction or whether it protects a collective right of the state. Although plain language, plain reading, and consistency with the rest of the constitution requires an interpretation that anyone but a Democrat or a Lobbyist can deduce, we note that the version of the amendment used ion all the news coverage is incorrectly reproduced:
To wit:
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. This rendering does not even make grammatic sense and is relied upon by opponents of the individual rights theory.
The correct rendering, taken from the Bill of Rights in the National Archives, is as follows:
A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.
Very plain.

DId OBL Win?
We face a unique situation in American history - to wit: Bib Laden attacked us in an attempt to destroy the US based on our infidelness. Afterwards, we have traded our liberties and our defense to a repressive state organization (sound familiar) and he now has a hundred thousand United States citizens and our children treated like inmates? We are pushed around in every conceivable manner by state organs (and Democrats) at least as repressive as the Taliban.

Election Absurdity
The most apalling aspect about the upcoming election in November is that there should be a contest at all.
No one I ever speak to has any patience for the other side, let alone the commitment to vote for it.
According to polls, there are a lot of people out there who have evidently never read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the "Federalist Papers," or "Democracy in America," yet every one of them has a vote that is just as good as yours.

Another Public Official (D) is going down in flames. After campaigning on “ethics”.
Now he is trying to back and fill and kick up dust and avoid resignation.
Within 48 hours the Senate Republicans will call on the State Speaker to commence impeachment if he does not resign.
We believe that we are about to see a gubernatorial impeachment in New York….
For the (R) side, let's review the Larry Craig situation.
He denies being gay. Yet he was charged with soliciting gay sex in a bathroom and pled guilty to a lesser included charge in order to avoid a scandal – he claims in a moment of stress.
The hidden facts are that he was the person who spearheaded the move (later derailed by democrats) to bring Janet Reno, FBI, and ATF to accounts for Waco.
Reasonable doubt? Perhaps they finally found a way to frame him and ruin him? Who can say for sure?
